Mother Helpage (MH) Kashmir, a charity organization aided in solemnising mass marriage in Bangidar area of Tral Subdivision of Pulwama District on Wednesday. The brides and grooms belonging to poor and destitute families were choosen with the help of village heads and Panchayat members were tied in nuptial knot in a very simple manner. Mother Helpage Kashmir arranged all the requisite items necessary for the ceremony. It provided the beneficiaries the financial assistance and some personalised items found essential and appropriate for this occasion. It was given out that in view of unnecessary customs and practices hindering the timely marriage of poor youth many girls are unable to find matches giving rise to late marriages. Many youths are not able to get married due to the dowry system and inflation. Poverty and unemployment are also some of the reasons behind this. "The motive was to help youth get married through simple ceremonies" said Manager of the NGO that organized this social event. He further elucidated that similar ceremonies would be held in other parts of the UT in future. Many of the noted citizens including Sarpanch, Gutroo Choudhray Shari; Social activist, Zahid Parvaaz Choudhray; popular Religious Preacher, Maqbool Akhrani and other PRI members and dozens of locals graced the event which was hailed by one and all irrespective of their social and religious background. #nikahceremony #massmarriage
